Open Bore MRI Services

The open MRI significantly reduces the stress and anxiety that goes with traditional closed MRI machines. If you’re claustrophobic or nervous about enclosed spaces, an open bore MRI is a lifesaver for getting professional imaging.

What is Open Bore MRI?

An open bore MRI works much like a closed MRI machine, except it eliminates the traditional tight tube you would lie in for the test. In an open bore MRI, the opening is much wider and roomier inside. This cuts down on claustrophobia and fear related to traditional MRI machines.

I had a very good experience at Accent 3t MRI. I am a little claustrophobic so Open MRI was recommended. It was a good choice.

What are the benefits?

Compared with traditional systems, the benefits of open bore MRI machines can include:

  • Higher levels of patient comfort

  • Reduced claustrophobia and patient-size concerns

  • Increased patient scan volume

  • Greater ease when placing critical body parts directly under the magnet

Open Bore MRI vs. Closed MRI

Closed MRI’s have been around the longest and make use of a capsule-like space to take high quality images. Open Bore MRIs have a wider opening which create more space and comfort for the patient. Greater comfort during open bore MRI scans means patients are less nervous and less likely to shift or move around during the testing procedure, improving image quality results.
